vForums Expands: New Server
We have recently added a new forum hosting server to our systems. This should help spread the load which in turn should speed up forum load and response times.
It is great to see vForums expanding. Lets hope we need many new, more powerful, servers in the not too distant future.
New & Improved URL Structure
We have just released a new feature - the ability to have even shorter URLs!
Our URLs have been using folder extensions since 2007 - we were early adopters of them. But now we've taken that one step further and have made them shorter. We've only cut out the junk which means we still keep all of the useful parts the search engines love!
One of the new URLs could be as short as: username.vforums.co.uk/general/1234/my-subject
We Listen to Our Users
We have just released a batch of new features to all user forums which includes greater control over forum templates. All of these new features have been based on what our users do and what they ask for.
If you have a great idea which could make our software or services even better than please let us know via the "Suggestions Board" on our "
Support Forum".
Variety of Domain Extentions
We now allow forums to be created on three of the domains which we own. You can choose from:
username.vforums.co.uk,
username.vforums.us
or
username.free-forums.eu
To register your desired forum, just use the "Check Availability" form to your left or
register here.
Or for just a one off set-up fee of £5 you can choose to
use your own domain.
Avatar Uploader
You can now upload your avatar/profile image from your computer straight into your profile. No need to upload it anywhere else! Next time you go to modify your profile, look out for the "Upload" button next to the avatar url field.
The Rise and Fall of the WYSIWYG
The rich text editor interface which we've been using for a few months now is being replaced by a light weight alternative UBBC editor.
